Manufacturing Activities Designed to Engage
MADE is a new pilot project coming to secondary schools in Torbay this September. If your school is taking part you’ll be hearing more about it soon from your design/tech teachers, but we thought we’d give you an introduction here so you know what’s coming.
The project has been designed to get you interested in thinking about a career in STEM (that’s science, technology, engineering and maths) through interactive and exciting hands-on work.
Starting from September, each school will have the opportunity to work together with a local business to create something from a brief using the new laser cutter. There will also be an inter-schools competition next year, tied into a showcase exhibition on STEM careers and opportunities.
More will be revealed throughout the year as it comes to your school’s chance to take part but it should be interesting!
