I’m new around here, but I’m not staying for long. My Name is Mollie Cronin and I am doing my work experience at Torbay Development Agency. I am only here for a week which is pretty sad and annoying because my week has been amazing! When I applied here I thought that because a lot of the work that TDA do was confidential so there would be no way I could do anything interesting! Well I was completely wrong! TDA have been so amazing for me and they have put so much effort into me. They set me up with a TDA account, and I had a desk that I would be based at everyday. My account enabled me to receive emails from all the workers at TDA and become more involved! I often said to myself that my week at TDA would be me sat in a corner taking notes on my day and what I did. But actually, I went to many meetings with different people who have different roles within TDA.
On my second day I was allowed to go to two meetings at Torre Abbey about the Geopark event. One was with the project team, and the other was with the project board. I was recording minutes and hoping that my hand would not fall off! It was hard work and that was my morning of day 2 work experience over. By then I was really tired but my day wasn’t over yet! I went straight over to South Devon College to be in another meeting about planning the next TechBay event. In the car on the way I was quite nervous, and let’s just say that the journey was not a normal car journey! It will be impossible for me to forget it. I won’t say any more than that! Anyway, the meeting was very interesting and it turned out that my friend Jaz, who was doing work experience at the College, was in the same meeting! That was definitely a surprise. Me and Jaz were able to have input in the meeting as our opinion would help the layout and setup of the event. The other days were based in the office where I met the business advisor, and researched some information about schools around the bay. I also met one of the marketing assistants (Gemma), who informed me about marketing and TDA’s Pop-up shop. I helped to create a Facebook advert for the launch of the new campaign Love Your High Street.

Additionally, education on gel application was limited, leaving nail techs in the dark about the product, and home-use systems were introduced around the same time, damaging the reputation of salon-use systems by association.Nail care
Overall, my week at TDA was one of the best weeks of my life. I am not saying that because I know members of the TDA will read this, I am saying it because my experience at TDA has helped me learn so much about Torbay and the effort that goes in to making it so wonderful! Right, now this is the bit that I am most looking forward to telling you. When I am old enough, or when I am able to, I anticipate on returning to TDA and applying for a job in one of the sections that I have worked in this week. That is how much I am grateful for all the staff at TDA. I never want to leave! I am hoping to return as soon as I can to continue with the work I have done during this week.
That’s all from me! Goodbye for now TDA
